LWRA Ham Bytes – Week of 12/23/24

Greetings, fellow LWRA folks,

December 23rd, 2024

As Santa Ham gets his radio all tuned up, SWR checked and his steady ability to change from HF to analog 2m or maybe one of the digital formats for those long minutes flying over oceans or deserts, may he ready the delivery of your new rig, antenna, analyzer you have wished for. Maybe he has your package ready for the coax you need or that new power supply to run your station; my hopes are that wishes may come true. It is certainly my hope that however you celebrate the season that this day will bring peace, joy and comfort to you and your family. If you are traveling safe travels and enjoy the holiday!

Forget not the QRP will be last Saturday (this coming Saturday) a good day to bring that new gadget for all to see at the QRP. We will be at Lake Wailes Crystal Lake Park for this event. Big Dogs will be there for a dog or a brat. We will be there from 9-12 or so.

Getting ready for the LWRA meeting in January were we will have the opportunity to see what we accomplished this year, present the budget and present our aspirations for the club and its activities. I hope you can attend. We will have the Google Meets link up for those that cannot attend. That wil be Thursday January 9th, 2025, at 7 PM.

A big thanks to Grant W2BF for taking the helm of the nets this past week. I understand he and Mary had a great time doing the NET with Mary actually doing the hard job as the scribe. I look forward to them jumping again some week. If you are interested in trying your hand a NET control just let me know and we can get you a spot to show us your stuff.
