LWRA President’s Message – Week of 3/18/24

Good day as we approach March Madness and MLB Baseball !!!!!!!!!!!! great sports time.

Ham radio is alive and well in the LWRA group. What a great program offered by K4GHB Gary!!!!!!!!! Several comments and excited folks ready to experiment. Also, thank you for supporting the club with renewed memberships and several new folks joining the club at the meeting. The club has several folks who work very hard to make things smooth for day-to-day operations. I would be at great risk to try and name all of them, so I’ll play it safe and go general! THANK YOU! Officers, Board, VE Team, QRP Team, Media support group, Repeater Committee and many many more!

An interesting point of conversation came up after the meeting. This was regarding the CTCSS on Polk repeaters. The question was tone or tone squelch. We DO NOT have any repeaters in Polk that use CTCSS that use Tone TX only, use Tone squelch with is TX and RX tone, which is important since several of our repeaters are dual mode. or a strong repeater is on the same frequency. for an updated repeater list including digital repeaters request at email jml610@comcast.net .
