LWRA Ham Bytes – Week of 4/07/25

Good Monday!

Here we are in the dreaded month of taxes, I hope you all faired well. I usually do not discuss; however, I must be doing something correct. I got a refund, only to get the tax preparation bill and had enough left over to get a Happy Meal, lol!

Thanks to the folks who worked the Sun N Fun Special Event Station last week. Approached 1000 check-ins, very good job!

The monthly meeting will be Thursday, and we have a very topical program. We will have the Central Florida Task Force on communication crime will tell us what is new and what can trap you and your money very fast. A very informative program. Don’t think you’re smarter than the crook. They have recently bilked a local attorney for several thousands of dollars.

We look forward to seeing old friends and maybe a newbie or two.

Our meeting will be the second Thursday at LWFD. I have very interesting program regarding cybercrime, scams and how easy it is to fall into a dangerous trap. I know we all think we are smarter than the average bear, however, they are using EVERY tool in the box to get you information, credit history and MONEY! A friend of mine within the last six months, a highly educated influential member of the community, lost 20,000 during one recent encounter. So come out and learn about the latest scams and how to protect yourself and your assets.
