LWRA Ham Bytes – Week of 2/10/25

Monday LWRA “HAM BYTES” WITH IMPORTANT MESSAGE!

I know you are all tired! HAMCATION was fantastic! I heard many of you discussing your new toys, acquisitions and wish list over air. Unfortunately, I had to divert my attendance due to a funeral on Saturday. Anyway, I hope you had a great time if you were able to attend. Russ has a walking tour if you missed it on YouTube. The monthly meeting is coming up this week Tuesday at LWFD station 1 on Central Ave in Lake Wales Join us as we have our first ‘classroom’ meeting for 2025. Our own Grant Burham will be telling all about Solar Panels, and in particular solar panel safety when using batteries. The link will be below for the Google Meets Link for the meeting.

SATURDAY is FOX Hunt, get your antennas all tuned up and ready to go. We will be hunting four fox transmitters from our start location in Mary Holland Park Bartow https://wwwcityofbatrow.net/439/Park-Pavilion-Maps we will be at the same location we have used before on the back side pavilion # 13. You can hunt on your own or team up. Set up HF stations at the park, assist with tracking the finds, or just visit. The Fox will be strategically placed, and rules and tip will be announced at the start of the hunt. We will post frequencies before the hunt to assure programming time, however they will be the same as we have used before. https://www.lwra.us/qrp for the flyer

Big Dogs on the porch will be back at the pavilion starting around 1145 or so, great dogs, burgers and more. Please bring a small donation to offset the cost please. It is, as always, a good idea to bring you own drink.
