Here it is the end of August! I certainly hope you are finding places to stay cool in this heat, speaking of cool you are on the coolest ‘hobby’ to beat the heat.
This week in HAM for us is a good week….
The net is tonight (8/22) at 730PM on the 442.425Mhz machine with a 127.3Hz CTCSS tone. Join Brook Peabody W4BDP live from Polk City for the net. Brook will announce the location of the Round Table net that follows the regular net. Come a make Brook feel welcome as he fills in for the weeks net.
Brook also, during the school year, runs the Polk County School Board Radio Society net, where students lead the net as they begin the interest in amateur radio. You can find out more about Brook at https://www.qrz.com/db/W4BDP speaking of Brook he is also one of our QRP Committee members.
QRP for this month will be at Crystal Lake Park in Lake Wales from 9-12 noon. Come by and see fellow HAMs as we set up a few a HF stations. We will also have our theme of 10 meters for the Tail Gate Tech theme. https://lwra.us/qrp for flyer and additional information. The park is at 205 N 5TH Street, Lake Wales Florida 33853. The talkin will be the LWRA 147.33 machine 127.3 CTCSS. The call in on 10M will be 28.325MHz on SSB. (Saturday August 26th 9-12)
