Greetings,
It is MONDAY! And it’s been a hectic week for several of us. I had to travel out of state on family business ( Richmond KY. Beautiful part of the county. A VERY strong emergency ham area. The area has a large military /civilian operation. They have a facility that destroys mustard gas weapon and cartridges from WW1 as well as other non-described munitions. The EOC has a nice amateur set up and they regularly practice drills. Each household has an emergency kit in case of a leak which includes a series of window and door covering, MRE and sealed foods, single serving water and other items. Ask me about it sometime.
For those who attended our QRP I understand you have a great time. An estimation of 5-6 stations set up several over sea contacts. The folks who just happened by were very interested in what was going on and wanted more information about ham radio. Everyone had a great tome just talking with HAMs…
For those who attended Techcon under the leadership of KT4WX, Darrell, a LWRA member had several attends in Brandon with three top notch technical presentations. Great reports of education and technical topics about HAM…
What we try our best to be as a club and or its members manifest itself this weekend. Folks came together to learn and fellowship with and about HAM radio. What an area to be a part of this hobby. Thanks to ALL who participated, organized or had any part in making this a successful hobby weekend!
