As we approach Easter, as time flies this year is screaming by! LWRA had a great QRP this weekend with at least nineteen folks stopping by Lake Ship Park. The video is already out, and it looks like a great time. I unfortunately had another engagement to attend a friend’s funeral.
From the scuttle of the topic, as usual garnished interest, thank you to the QRP committee for the great work. Stand by for the April QRP announcement in a few days.
Our meeting will be in a couple of weeks on the second Tuesday. Besides our quarterly business meeting we will have Russ N4RTD presenting the program. Russ’ topical program is always of interest. He will be discussing, even if you’re not ready to renew, maintaining your FCC log in. Every time he does this topic folks find out that routine logging in is a great maintenance test for easy renewal. As always, I’m sure he can answer other topical questions if you have those as well.
SPECIAL WEEK FOR THE NET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We will enjoy the NET this week KT4WX the 5th week Net Control Operator. Darrell is the WCF ARRL Section Manager so join him if you can. We will need all the help we can get on the LWRA UHF machine 442.425Mhz +5MHz offset with 127.3 on both tx and rx. This is a dual mode repeater AMS Fusion. The net is conducted in the analog mode starting at 730PM followed by the ‘round table’ the LWRA repeater.
Flavor for the week a TWO FER!
Digital will be DSTAR Bartow 444.4875MHz +Mhz. DSTAR radio is required. This repeater is a gateway repeater making worldwide accessibility or local QSO. And The 146.655MHz -.6MHz off set. This is P25 local with a NAC of 293.
Topping will be the “375” 147.375 +.6Mhz with 127.3 CTCSS on TX and RX.
Both the 375 and the 655 are very well ranged repeaters located in South Lakeland.
QRP will be announced soon so stand by.
We still net a few net controllers for our GMRS associated nets. Third or fourth week on Bartow and W5DBH’s repeater in Haines City.
Dan’s W5DBH Haines City Net on Fridays 462.55 127.3 he needs subs and controllers for his 7 PM Friday net.
I need a third- or fourth-week controller for the Polk GMRS net for Tuesday at 7PM each week. 462.725 141.3. Also, standby subs for all three nets would be great. Let me know about any 863-412-2467
Thanks, Russ, for the celestial updates. Great net reminders on SIGNAL each day… a wonderful tool!
