LWRA Ham Bytes – Week of 11/17/25

Good day LWRA!

I hope you all were able to become radioactive this past week! I know a few people from our area are hoping for an expeditious FCC to return to normal this week. Listen out if they do. We have a few people who tested and are awaiting their call signs and will be joining us on the air. Help them, they are just like everyone else and may have a little ‘mic fright’.

Thanks to the people who turned out for the meeting last Thursday, we had nominations for the ’26 slate of officers and they are as follows. President – KB4FHP, VP – W5DBH, Secretary WH6DNF Tres. K4GHB and BMAL AG4LT. As you can see the nominees who were all present at the meeting are the same as last year.  We will have a procedural vote at the December Meeting.  Thank You to those who gave nice comments on the program, I thought it was fun.

Speaking of the December Meeting I will check to see if a local restaurant can accept us as a group for a dinner meeting (Dutch);OR we will have treats and such at the meeting as we did last year.  Several remainders will be forthcoming to make sure we are set to go.

Don’t forget the Flavor of the Week and Topping, this week it is Fusion on the Bartow Fusion repeater 145.270 Fusion (C4FM so no CTCSS tone is required or used) the Topping (analog) will be WC4PEM on one of the four linked repeaters. More information can be found at https://www.polkares.org

Don’t forget the nets: We need ya!  The net controller is KB4FHP. Always a great net 730 TUESDAY, if you can check in, please do, if not let us know that you ‘would if you could’ on SIGNAL. The net time is 730 on the K4LKW UHF repeater. Look for the announcement on the net for the round table to follow.

Thanks, Russ, for the celestial updates. Great net reminders on SIGNAL each day a wonderful tool!

Don’t forget use LWRA Signal Club & Swap group to find or create great deals on this medium. One average item only stays active fora few days before they are sold.
