LWRA Ham Bytes – Week of 11/03/25

Good day LWRA!

Here we are in Fall Florida (don’t blink, it goes by fast). Nice cool days the last week I hope you have enjoyed it. As a reminder November has an important meeting! it is our nominations for officers. Please consider potential candidates for this year’s officers. The election will take place in December. The five offices are the typical P-VP-S-T and one additional board member.

Forget not that we have moved the QRP to this weekend! Location Fort Meade (see flyer) https://www.lwra.us We will have a ‘simply QRP’ meaning for us, you are encouraged to set up any type of station you desire, show off your radio set up. If that’s a portable UHF VHF or a GMRS, and HF rig, testing an antenna set up, and so on. Or just come out and enjoy the day, the friends and the food. Bring a drink still Florida and dehydration take less time even if its cooler thank you think. Big Dogs on the Porch with dogs and such. A donation jar to help out if you like.

Look for the Flavor of the WEEK; This week its Dstar on the Bartow repeater (444.4875 Dstar) or 147.375Mhz with 127.3Hz on Tx and Rx. This is known as the “375” located in South Lakeland. A private but open for general use repeater. Well elevated with phenomenal range.

Don’t forget the nets: We need ya! The net controller this is W4JFS. Always a great net 730 TUESDAY, if you can check in, please do, if not let us know that you ‘would if you could’ on SIGNAL. The net time is 730 on the K4LKW UHF repeater. Look for the announcement on the net for the round table to follow.
