Good morning,
VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION!
Due to extenuating circumstances Ham n Beans as well as the QRP event for October will be CANCELED! Many good events are conflicting and in order not to compromise our or others commitment to other events, it has been canceled. The QRP Committee has instead come up with an alternative to the QRP.
We will be having an old fashion QRP ‘Simply QRP’ on the 8th of November. This will be our October and November QRP that is usually a small event due to the Thanksgiving holiday. The QRP in November (8th) will be at Fort Meade, a very popular place for our events with plenty of room and space for your radios and antennas. I apologize for the inconvenience. The flyer will be up soon on the web site.
In the same thought process, we are moving the Ham N Beans event to the QRP date in January (if approved at the meeting.)
The meeting this month is Thursday and will be our regular Business meeting. We will have a program on “where did that come? Regarding common items used in Amateur radio” things you just might not know… Join us at 7PM Thursday the 9th; Lake Wales Fire Station 1 or on the Google Meets app. A link will be sent out on Thursday as a reminder.
Update! We are VERY close to reestablishing the Echo Link and adding All Star to the VHF repeater, hopefully in a few weeks. Stay tuned! A little issue has manifested trying to work our way through it. The shutdown has interfered with this so far.
Don’t forget the nets: We need ya! The net controller this Tuesday our 1st week net control operator in the ‘repeater killer’ himself W4JFS John. Always a great net 730 TONIGHT, if you can check in, please do, if not let us know that you ‘would if you could’ on SIGNAL LWRA CHAT. The net time is 730 on the K4LKW UHF repeater. Look for the announcement on the net for the round table to follow.
Don’t forget WINLINK Monday: We need you here too!
Thanks, Russ, for the celestial updates.
