Good morning! It is meeting week and it’s our hands on type meeting. We are going to learn more about satellite tracking and communications. We do have several folks who hobby this mode. One of the ‘Big Dogs” Kyle KC4ALE will demonstrate and educate us on this HAM mode of operation. Weather permitting, we will move outdoors for some of the meeting.
As summer gets entrenched and the vacation season is in full swing, we have several ways to connect back home via radio. We have ECHO Link on the LARC as well as WC4PEM, Dstar with the repeater in Bartow. DMR with of course Florida Statewide and our Polk Schools Talk Group. Wires X and non-radio Signal App.
I mention Signal because you can check on signal to see if anyone is available for radio QSO and of course we want our folks to feel at ease checking in to the LWRA net to let us know you are ok. Speaking of nets…
We have a treat! KO4FRZ Dave, a great friend and member has volunteered to take this week’s net. Please make Dave welcome I know the first time you do a net it is nerve racking. So, thanks to Dave for testing the waters. 7:30 pm on the LWRA UHF machine.
As far as net controllers we still need a second Tuesday net control for LWRA or if you want to try to see if you like it, you can fill in. We have vacations and other events that interrupt the schedule. Just contact me for more information and a copy of the preamble.
QRP is still up in the air so a mid-week message may be forth coming.
Don’t forget the nets: We need ya!
Check out W4JFS’ ‘flavor of the day’ (what repeater we are highlighting that day) on Signal Chat.
Don’t forget WINLINK Monday: We need you here too!
