LWRA Ham Bytes – Week of 12/02/24

Greetings, fellow LWRA folks,

12/2/24

Merry Christmas 2024!

Wow, time flies as fast as a fat man in a reindeer driven sleigh!

I hope all had a wonderful T day! I know I had way too much to eat but is was great to be with friends and family and to enjoy the holiday. I find it funny, just because I am a history buff, that most of what we do for thanksgiving is since the early 1900’s and sooner. A recent pole shows that the least liked meat in America is turkey; go figure. Anyway, I hope it gave some the opportunity to acquire a ‘Black Friday’ radio deal or two. They had some good ones.

I would like to thank the team of hard-working eager to help folks who made up our ‘Helping Ham” teams. They re installed two HF antennas and engineered some mounting options to assist those folks servicing their antennas. We also evaluated another ham’s station and made some recommendations for him to get back on the air. All in all, it was a great time of learning, fellowship and accomplishment. I would also like to thank the folks who requested our assistance. Sometimes folks just are afraid to ask. I believe they benefited from our efforts.

I look forward to the next QRP. We will more than likely have a standard QRP with several stations, maybe one that Santa brought you for Christmas.

I look forward to the meeting this month, the second Thursday at 7PM in Lake Wales. We will have a great time so come join us for the meeting and holiday refreshments.
