Greetings, fellow LWRA folks,
11/25/24
Happy Thanksgiving!
As we approach the holiday season, we encourage each of you to be extremely careful. Easily distracted driving, by the sights and sounds as folks ready the creations of decorations. Overstuffed with tryptophan from turkey, making you desire a nap. Well, you get the picture. On a serious note, it is the highest occurrence for accidents of anytime of the year. I know some of you will be traveling to see family, others travel to seek out your hunting interest, others put up decorations while others will unfortunately experience a very unusual season. While you remember the fun, food and excitement please take time to remember those who are forever impacted by our recent hurricanes.
I am very thankful for great friends in this organization a look forward to a great year in Ham radio. I would like to thank Dan, Gene and Dave for handling the meeting and nominations last month. If you did not attend the meeting; the officer nominations were a continuum of the past year with no changes. We will still vote in December as a formality.
The QRP will be THIS SATURDAY. I know we will be less than normal, but we will do our annual helping HAMs for the year. We will go to three maybe four-member stations to get them back in operating status after storms or other circumstances.
We will meet at the Dundee Diner for breakfast at 8AM them divide up to go to the locations. It will be a great day for radio, learning for some and helping others. I hope to see everyone there.
Even if you are not meeting for breakfast meet in the Dundee dinner parking lot if you can at app 9AM.
Fell free to call me if you need additional information at 863-412-2467
EMAIL IF YOU PLAN ON HELPING HAMS (qrp) IN NOVEMBER
kn4itq@comcast.net two will be in the Lake Wales area. The other two will be in the Cypress Gardens area. ALL of these are very light antenna work or cable work. One is helping a ham gain confidence in his ability to set up his HF station.
