Good Monday morning! We have had great radio week (I think) folks are learning about their new radios they got at blow out prices (6330d ICOM NXDN for a little more than 100 bucks’ original price 1000) . Neat to see the camaraderie in helping each other. Folk helping new operators configure their HF antennas to accomplish their goals. Folks are excited to HF contest and post their successes. Two folks passed their test in near record time at the LWRA testing. Ham radio is alive and well in our area and it’s all because folks like you!
I would like to extend my appreciation to the unsung hearos of our educators and all the support folks that make that work. Several of our folks are in the education system in one way or another. Your sacrifices to be a part of that craft are appreciated. Some are proponents of radio in their schools and wish their endeavors success.
Speaking of one of those heroes, W4JFS will be our Tuesday net control operator.
We will enjoy the net this Tuesday at 730 followed by the ‘informal round table’. We have had some great NET lately so come join us. We meet on the LWRA UHF machine 442.425Mhz +5MHz offset with 127.3 on both TX and RX. This is a dual mode repeater for AMS Fusion. The net is conducted in the analog mode starting at 730PM followed by the ‘round table’ for the LWRA repeater.
QRP- plans are underway for August. I’ll update you as soon as the location is confirmed.
We still net a few net controllers for our GMRS associated nets. Third or fourth week on Bartow and W5DBH’s repeater in Haines City.
Dan’s W5DBH Haines City Net on Fridays 462.55 127.3 he needs subs and controllers for his 7 PM Friday net.
I need a third- or fourth-week controller for the Polk GMRS net for Tuesday at 7PM each week. 462.725 141.3. Also, standby subs for all three nets would be great. Let me know about any 863-412-2467
Thanks, Russ, for the celestial updates. Great net reminders on SIGNAL each day… a wonderful tool!
